The evening is warm as you approach your companion's tent. The crackling fire casts a dim light across your path, carrying the sound of laughter and clanking tankards in it. There is no noise from inside the tent, perhaps they are asleep.

The sound at the campfire has stopped. The entire party has just witnessed your dramatic display of failure.
[[Restart Encounter->The Beginning]]You remain at the entrance of the tent, watching her closely. She's bundled up in a blanket, attentively reading her book. Perhaps you should let her know you're there. It's getting a bit creepy.

With one swift shove, you're thrown out of the tent and land face first in the dirt. Your companions by the campfire stare at you cautiously, it feels like they trust you a little less.

You push yourself up with such force that it knocks Talia to the ground. She eyes you cautiously and her fingers tighten around the silver knife.
"Get out. Now." She's pissed. But in her eyes you can see that she's scared. You could take advantage of this. "What's wrong with you?"
[[You attacked me out of nowhere!]]

<</if>>Talia looks at you in bewilderment.
"//I// attacked //you//?" She steps forward, ready to strike at any moment. "You snuck into my tent!" It seems as if she has a lot to say. Like she's ready to absolutely go off at you about the situation. Instead, she clenching her teeth for a moment and breathes deeply. "Get out."
//[[Get out]]//

Talia's grip tightens around her knife and she takes her opportunity to free her arm. You see a flash of silver and feel a sting against your throat. Then everything is red.
You see it spewing from your throat, splattering your companion's face and decorating the tent walls. She shoves you backwards, gasping and wiping at the blood on her face.
"Oh God- Fuck- What the fuck-"
You can't breathe. It feels like drowning. This is it. You thought at this point you'd see you life flash before your eyes. You don't. You just see red. Blood on everything. And then-
[[Restart Encounter->The Beginning]] Your reflexes take over. In a moment, her knife is in your hand and you sink it deep into her chest. Talia's eye go wide.
"What the- What- Why are-" The words fumble in her mouth. It's like a child unable to say a full sentence. She stares up at you, desperate and afraid. Her lips move as she tries to form a word. But there's nothing. You watch as the light dims in her eyes. Stillness.
You don't know how you should feel. Everything happened so fast. But there's no time to figure it out. You notice the camp has fallen silent.
You've got a dead body to deal with.
[[Restart Encounter->The Beginning]] You put pressure on her wrist, forcing her the drop the knife the ground. Without hesitating, you grab it and toss the blade to the side.
"GET OFF ME!" She screams out, thrashing beneath you. You struggle to keep her there, wondering to yourself how things went so wrong. Before you can put much thought into it, the tent flap is yanked open and the last thing you feel is the immense blow of a scaly fist against your head before everything goes dark.
[[Restart Encounter->The Beginning]]She jumps, dropping her book and snapping her gaze in your direction.

You hear her breath catch as you step over to her. You look down for permission and she quickly brushes the few scattered objects on the floor out of the way.

//[[Listen to the story]]//"That's fair, I suppose. Everyone has their own things." She reaches for the book behind her and quickly flips it shut. It's quiet for a moment. "Hey, I'm sure the others are wondering where you went. I'll be fine here, really."
You may not be the best at reading signals but you get the feeling that she's trying to get you to leave.
//[[Take the hint]]//
[[Wait, I wanted to talk to you about something.]]As the two of you settle down, she flips to a page and begins to read. You've never heard anyone tell a tale quite like it, it makes you think that her true calling may have been a bard.
She describes the story of a goblin who was raised by gnomes, always causing havoc and never truly fitting in. He causes problem after problem, until eventually, the group abandons him. He wanders the realms for a long time until he eventually gets caught in a trap and is discovered by a group of goblins where he finally finds a place he can be his happy, chaotic self.
It's a simple story, but the way Talia tells it make everything come alive. You can hear the sounds and feel the environment. Her eyes light up as she talks and her face looks so youthful in the light of the lantern.
"Well? What did you think?" She asks, closing the book gently and placing it beside her.

There is a long pause. This is awkward. Was she expecting something else? You can't bear the awkwardness anymore.
